Someone wrote that this picture is of an Helena Gum Moth, rather than of an Emperor Gum Moth. After looking at these two sites: http://www.usyd.edu.au/macleay/larvae/satu/eucaly.html and http://www.usyd.edu.au/macleay/larvae/satu/helen.html I decided the picture is probably of an Emperor Gum Moth. However, I have no expertise in this area.
The wing shape of O. eucalypti is much more pronouncedly falcate than O. helena, which is the pictured species. Also the eyespots in this picture are the size of O. helena, and nowhere near as big as those present in O. eucalypti. You may also notice that the rear wing size is too large to be O. eucalypti, but corresponds to O. helena. I think it ought to be moved to a page of its own or removed from here.
