Compilation work edit

This appears to be a compilation work. The individual elements may be covered under their own individual copyrights.

Separately, they are almost certainly covered by trademarks. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 23:23, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. I don't sewe the difference between this image and File:McForeverYoung.jpg, where the arches are copyrighted but the image is free.§hep¡Talk to me! 23:42, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Others I ran across in the same cat include File:中国国际航空機内食Air China7024246.jpg, File:Pet Food Aisle.jpg, File:Dogfood options-1.jpg, ect. Unless I'm missing the point of your argument? §hep¡Talk to me! 23:54, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
File:Dogfood options-1.jpg has a similar problem. In the other ones, free content dominates the image or, in the case of File:Pet Food Aisle.jpg, the non-free items are so small that they don't matter. I would recommend Dogfood options-1 be moved off the commons. You do raise a good point: The problem is likely pervasive throughout the commons. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 00:04, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Would you mind explaining what a compilation work is? I'm still a bit confused with what the "problem" is. Thanks. §hep¡Talk to me! 00:08, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
A compilation work is a mosaic or other work composed of two or more existing works, in this case, 8 packages of food. I've opened a general discussion on the commons, at commons:Commons:Village pump#Status of compilation images. I'm sure this isn't the first time this has come up, I'm hoping someone will say "don't worry about it, these images are okay" or "you are right, these images are a problem, here's what to do about them." davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 01:08, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I see it as a picture of a single box of food, I'll be happy to see what Commons says. §hep¡Talk to me! 01:14, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
