I have a model of the Gee Bee R 1 sitting on my desk...the one flown by J. Doolittle in 1932 Thompson races. In 1937 I was living with my Grandparents in Santa Monica, CA. My grandfather took me173.30.245.173 (talk) 18:23, 6 November 2013 (UTC) to the local airfield in Santa Monica. I saw this aircraft at the airport...can'T Remember the details, was it flown in or what. Can you help me out with this?
