This aircraft saw service in the RAF and later served as a small airliner on Scottish routes. It was acquired by Fox's Glacier Mints in the early 1950's and was used predominantly to fly the company executives to the firm's factories in Belfast and Bangor via Nuts Corner airfield in Ulster and to their factory in Dublin. The company also later owned a De Havilland Dove - Reg G-AMFU. There were two pilots employed; Jimmy Hart(ex Sq. Leader RAF )who flew wearing a trilby (!) and Rex Downes (ex RAF). The aircraft was sold when the manufacture of Fox's Glacier Mints concentrated manufacture solely in Leicester. My first flight in the aircraft was in 1951 in a carry-cot at the age of 13 weeks. It was an emotional moment when I climbed into the cabin almost exactly 52 years later at Coventry Airport where she is part of Air Atlantique's inventory of aircraft.
