DELETION REQUEST

Dear sir,

I've noticed this coat of arms appear with interest, but it is unfortunately not the official or correct coat of arms. The College of Arms has yet to design a coat of arms for The Duchess of Cambridge (singularly) or a combined coat of arms for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Would you please be able to delete this coat of arms in the meantime? Thank you.

Miguel does have a point, the arms are incorrect. As drawn they show that Prince William is married to the Duchess' father and not to Catherine. Her arms should be his arms impaled with her fathers. And although it would be premature, the arms would then be correct. Kiltpin (talk) 15:54, 5 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Her arms should be his arms impaled with her fathers." Says who? According to the College of Arms Law or Arms "When married, a woman may unite her arms with those of her husband...their arms are impaled...(or)...A married woman may also bear either her own arms or her husband's arms alone on a shield with a small differencing mark to distinguish her from her father" Garlicplanting (talk) 10:40, 28 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Correct Arms Announced edit

Since there had previously been comments that the arms shown here were still presumptive, I'll note that William and Catherine's conjugal Coat of Arms was announced today by Kensington Palace. The press release with image and heraldic description is available here: http://www.dukeandduchessofcambridge.org/news-and-diary/8756/press-release -- Metheglyn (talk) 12:29, 27 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

As an aside, since this page may not be the best way to get hold of the illustrator, I did post about this to the relevant part of Sodacan's talk page. -- Metheglyn (talk) 12:50, 27 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
