File talk:Cinereous vulture Trigance, France.jpg

Latest comment: 3 years ago by Pgf

This image shows a Griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus). Note contrast between the dark flight feathers and the brown body and coverts. There is a relatively short and narrow whitish bar on the coverts and there is a long wide pale bar on the greater coverts separating the brown coverts from the dark remiges. The head and neck is whitish pale.

I therefore removed this image from the Cinereous vulture article. It might be a suitable addition to the Griffon vulture article (showing the flight silhouette well). Cinereous vulture

Thank you. I'm not an expert, and had showed a friend, who is a birder, the picture. It was his identification. I'll change the description on the image, but I likely won't edit the Griffon vulture page. Pgf (talk) 16:52, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
