Why are there glowing embers in the burned areas of this photo? It looks as if someone took the ferrotype (or perhaps a reproduction of it), lit several parts of it on fire, blew them out, then snapped the photo before the embers had a chance to die out. I suspect what you are seeing is damage due to age, or else a scanning artifact.--Auric talk 22:30, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
