I think the elevation is very exagerated in this 3d representation of Puerto Rico and the sorrounding areas. The deepest point of the Puerto Rico trench is around 28,000 feet deep (equivalent to around 5 miles). Puerto Rico land is around 100 x 35 miles. In this picture when you compare the size of Puerto Rico to height of the trench it gives the impression that the trench is around 45 or 50 miles deep.
The picture is excellent but I think there should be a clarification that the elevation has been exagerated.
