Technically, this is not a "sawmill". In days past when this saw was seeing widespread use, it was commonly called a "buzz saw" which is actually a term simply meaning a saw with a circular blade. It was also known by the more proper descriptive of "tractor powered cord-wood saw". Instead of sawing logs into lumber as is implied by the term "sawmill" it was used to cut logs into firewood lengths. These powered saws made the task of cutting firewood much easier than using a Buck saw or a two man saw. Ole okie dude (talk) 20:13, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
