To be fair, the upper shield with the bullet holes was added on by the crew, and is not "hardened" like the original lower shield was. (notice any bullet holes in it?) It's just added steel plate to "conceal" the crew more than protect them from the bullets. If they can't be seen it's harder to hit them, hence add a foot of plate (preferably armored) to the top, or keep your head down! V/R Winget
