Copyright status

It looks to me like this is a publicity shot: see it here as part of Anders Hultman's review of the Barbican gig, in the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. --Vinoir 11:25, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

I have contacted Anders to see if he can confirm whether or not it is a publicity shot. At the same time, I asked him if he would consider freeing up these images ([1] and [2]) under a creative commons license. Okay... Anders says "it would be an honour" to include his Barbican images, which is (at least I think so) great news. I'd like to think that we wouldn't be infringing any copyright of Bill and Jimmy if we did that...do you know if that's true?

They have no copyright over images taken by other people. If Anders took the photo and it wasn't in the course of his employment, he owns the copyright. The best thing to do would be to ask him to upload the images himself and licence them under a suitable free licence. Also, with regards to Image:2K - Wheelchair.gif, Anders says: "It probably is a publicity shot, but I'm not sure. The picture was placed in my review by the newspaper editors without my participation, and since there is no byline chances are that it's supplied by the record company or equivalent, and not taken by some photographer under contract with the paper." Hello there, sorry to be enigmatic. I have read in 45, that after the performance "we willingly posed for photos and jabbered with gay abandon into any microphone that was put in front of us". I've seen at least one similar but different image to this, and I'd say (sadly) that the chances are, these images are not part of a "press pack". --Vinoir 09:32, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm afraid I can't. The release of "Millennium" had the desired effect on me: disillusionment. Only later did I see the genius. I've contacted Svenska Dagbladet directly. --Vinoir 14:41, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Woot woot! I knew it was a press release photo, and I've finally found it! Mute/Blast First still have their 2K mini-site up, complete with an online version of the 2K press release.
