Edwards Delegates

edit

Are the delegates Edwards won, and officially went to Obama's side, being included in the counting on this map? An example is 3 of the 4 delegates Edwards won in New Hampshire are now Obama delegates.

Good question. I have changed the image description to clarify: "This map is intended to reflect 'election results.' It reflects delegate changes that occur in states where delegates are selected through multiple events (e.g. IA, TX) but not delegate changes that have occurred in other states where bound delegates have indicated an intention to vote otherwise at the convention (e.g. NH, MD)." In other words, I only count switches from Edwards delegates if they are part of the primary/caucus process itself. I don't count switches from delegates who simply make statements in the press about their intentions, and I won't count switches that occur at the national convention itself. This reflects current practice on the other graphics at Results of the 2008 Democratic Party presidential primaries. See the "Delegate Map" question on my talk page for my rationale, as well as the related discussions on the main article talk page at (1) and (2).
That said, there may be a few minor errors on the map in the states with multiple events. I haven't double checked the numbers recently and probably will not do so until I do a full and final update for the historical record after the last events are over. I am happy to correct specific errors if they are pointed out to me before then. best, Northwesterner1 (talk) 21:15, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
