Summary

Description

The Yak-15 was essentially a Yak-3 airframe fitted with a copy of the Junkers Jumo 004 jet engine. It was one of only two aircraft types to be successfully converted from piston to jet power, the other being the Saab J-21, The NATO codename for the type was 'Feather'. 280 were built and this is the only known survivor. It's msn has been suggested as being '31007', but this is unconfirmed. Displayed at the Vadim Zadorozhny Technical Museum, Arkhangelskoye, Moscow. Russia.
