Description
English: The Boston Young Men's Christian Association was founded in 1851, the first YMCA chapter in the United States. The Administration building at 316 Huntington Avenue was constructed in 1911 on what was once the peninsula of Gravely Point. It was designed by Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge The Education and Gym Buildings were built later, and sold to developers in 2012. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. (Source: NRHP application)
