Deutsch: Der Pavillon 17 des psychiatrischen Krankenhauses Baumgartner Höhe ist derzeit dem Otto-Wagner-Pflegezentrum zugeordnet und beherbergt das Zentrum für Förderpädagogik. Die Verwendung der Pavillons, insbesondere im mittleren Bereich, war im Lauf der Geschichte jedoch sehr wechselvoll. In der Zeit des NS-Regimes standen die Pavillons 15 und 17 ab 1940 in Verwendung der "Jugendfürsorgeanstalt Am Spiegelgrund", von 1942-45 als "Städtische Nervenklinik für Kinder Am Spiegelgrund", welche eine der insgesamt mehr als dreißig sog. Kinderfachabteilungen im ehem. Deutschen Reich war. Etwa 700 bis 800 Euthanasiemorde an verhaltensauffälligen und geistig behinderten Kindern fanden während dieser Zeit in der Anstalt unter der Leitung von Heinrich Gross statt, unzählige weitere wurden aber auch in die Tötungsanstalt Hartheim deportiert und dort umgebracht. |
