The film is by Sam Gee and was narrated by Almshouses resident Margaret Dickens, script written by Almshouses resident David Gilbert. § The Latin text above the entrance is: "Qui dat pauperi non indigebit qui despicit deprecantem sustinebit penuria" Translated in the King James bible as:

"He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
