Object history
Deutsch: Im Jahre 1904 bemühte sich die Gemeinde Buchheim um ein Gemeindewappen, da neue Gemeindestempel notwendig waren. Im 19. Jahrhundert hatte sie Stempel mit der Abbildung eines Laubbaumes verwendet. Damit war wohl eine Buche, ein „redendes" Symbol für den Ortsnamen, gemeint. Das künftige Wappen sollte nach dem Wunsch der Gemeinde den geschichtlichen Verhältnissen des Ortes Rechnung tragen. Das Generallandesarchiv schlug daher die Aufnahme eines Turmes in das neue Wappen vor, womit auf den „Buchheimer Hans" angespielt wird. So heißt ein alter Turm, der einzige Überrest einer abgegangenen, wohl aus der Zeit der Gotik stammenden Kirche. Die Gemeinde nahm im Jahre 1905 das Wappen an.
