Deutsch: Geteiltes Wappen; oben in Blau zwei silberne Fische übereinander; unten in Rot ein liegender goldener Äbtissinnenstab.

Die Fische im Wappen verweisen zum einen auf die Lage am Schaalsee und zum anderen auf die Schaalsee-Edelmaränen aus dem mit über

71 m tiefsten Klarwassersee Norddeutschlands. Der Äbtissinnenstab erinnert an das vormalige Nonnenkloster.

Author Das Wappen wurde von Otto Menzel in Schwerin, nach einem vom Geheimen und Hauparchiv Schwerin unterbreiteten Vorschlag, gestaltet. Es wurde am 13. Mai 1922 vom Mecklenburg-Schwerinschen Staatsministerium genehmigt.; 2017 vom Grafiker Nicky Hoff anhand des Beispiels aus der offiziellen Wappenrolle für die Stadt Zarrentin am Schaalsee vektorisiert.
