Summary

Description
English: Uphall. Formerly Strathbrock, like many West Lothian towns it grew up as an oil town, making its fortune on the oilshale mining in the 19th Century. Its now more of a commuter town, with a recently reopened railway link to Edinburgh. Still too many boarded up shops.
