Imagen construida a partir de la descripción oficial del escudo de la Universidad de Alcalá en el apartado nº 1, del capítulo 10 de los estatutos de la Universidad de Alcalá.: "El escudo de la Universidad de Alcalá responde a la siguiente descripción:

  • Timbre heráldico de dignidad cardenalicia (capelo rojo con quince borlas del mismo color, pendientes en cinco series a cada lado).
  • Campo: ajedrezado o de jaqueles.
  • Esmaltes: Oro (punteado) y gules (rayado vertical). Dispuestos así: Gules en el "Jefe" y "Punta" y "Flancos" diestro y siniestro; oro en "Cantones" diestro y siniestro del Jefe, en el "Abismo" y ambos cantones de "Punta".
  • Cruz patriarcal flanqueada con dos cisnes blancos afrontados y debajo del timbre.
  • Divisa: sobre el timbre "Compluti Urbis Universitas" en la parte de arriba y "Universidad de Alcalá" en la de abajo."
