Summary

Description
English: Uhuru Design: one of Uhuru's original designs, and still the most popular, each Stoolen is created from collected scraps of hardwood from local workshops and a found bicycle rim (optional). Bill Hilgendorf’s commitment to sustainability and love of found objects brought this piece to life and helped to define the term “up-cycling” --- using discarded low value materials to create a high-valued item. Available in custom sizes and finishes. Hand built to order, signed and numbered by the maker in Red Hook Brooklyn and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
