Description The U.S. Navy dock landing ship USS Mount Vernon (LSD-39) at the entrance to the channel as it arrives for a visit to Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (USA), on 1 June 1991. The Mount Vernon was stopping at Pearl Harbor while en route to its home port of Naval Station San Diego, California (USA), after serving in the Persian Gulf region during the 1990-1991 Gulf War.
