English: Amphibious shipping in an English port loading for the invasion of France, circa late May or early June 1944. LCMs beached in the foreground include at least one from USS Samuel Chase (APA-26). USS LST-374 and USS LST-314 are in the center. The latter was sunk by German motor torpedo boats on 9 June 1944.
