Summary

Description
English: Part of the "Treasure of Ur" (which, according to the text on an UNESCO, site was found in Mari). A piece of lapis lazuli, the text reads "Mesannepada, king of Ur, presented this helical-shaped precious stone to the goddess Jal when Cansud was a king in Mari". Found with 50 valuable gems in the royal palace from before Sargon of Akkad. It is thought it was a foundatrion gift rather than hidden treasure. Source: guidebook of the museum.
