Summary

Description
English: In Medieval times, it was the central square of the town and the economic and administrative center of the town until the 19th century. The square was destroyed during World War II. In 2003, Town Hall Square was fully rebuilt, as well as the House of the Blackheads and the statue of Roland. Next to it, there is a Soviet-style building erected in 1970 that housed the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia; during its renovation the museum’s exhibits can be found on Raiņa Boulevard.
