English: The Tirupparamkundram Murugan temple is a major complex with a long history. It has origins in a pre-7th-century rock cut cave temple dedicated to the Shaivism tradition. The temple was expanded over the centuries, between 7th and 15th century with mandapas, halls, shrines, feeding house, Vedic school and performance arts complex. The temple is one of the major pilgrimage sites in South India.
