Purpose of use

The window is the only memorial to Stowe's 17 years she spent in Mandarin, sponsoring a school for emancipated slaves and a church for the community. As a work of art, it became a significant tourist attraction in Mandarin until it and the church were destroyed in 1964 by Hurricane Dora.
