English: Caption on image: Cannery ship waiting for the salmon pack, Chignik, Alaska PH Coll 247.27
The BENJAMIN F. PACKARD was blown onshore in Chignik Bay during a gale on the night of April 17, 1911. This same storm also damaged the STAR OF ALASKA and the JABEZ HOWES, the latter ship being completely wrecked. The BENJAMIN F. PACKARD and the STAR OF ALASKA were later repaired.
