Native, cool season, perennial, terrestrial herb to 60 cm tall. Leaf 1, is linear to lanceolate, to 25 cm long and 10 mm wide, ribbed and dark green. Flowerheads are 3–10-flowered. Perianth segments are to 15 mm long and purple. Flowering is from August to September. Common in coastal heath.
