DescriptionThe signals are off - geograph.org.uk - 316909.jpg
English: The signals are off The site of Woofferton station.
The signals have been set to allow the approaching train to proceed along the main line. The further facing signal (the red & white one) for the North-bound (left-hand) line is a junction signal. The slightly taller post carries the signal for the most important route with the lower post carrying the signal for the lesser route (in this case a siding). These signals are lower quadrant signals, following the traditional Great Western Railway system. For all railway companies a horizontal arm indicated danger.
