Description
English: The junction of the Bwlch-y-Slaters (Manod Quarry) branch with the main Rhiwbach tramroad. This 700 yard long branch tramway from Bwlch-y-Slaters to the Rhiwbach Tramroad (on the left of the photo) was built in 1888 and cost all of £300. The branch tramway was gated at the junction. A bill for erecting the gate reads "Fixing gate at Bwlch Slater Junction, 3 days @ 3/10d = 11/6d (just short of 60p). The Rhiwbach tramway can be followed in the photo as far as the Cwt-y-Bugail Junction.
