At Ashton Halt which was apparently a former Railway Station on the Glasson to Lancaster Line for the use of Lord Ashton the Lino Magnate 'Lile Jimmy Williamson'. His Country pile, Ashton Hall, now Lancaster Golf Club is nearby. The Rail Line was built primarily to take his Lino from factories in Lancaster to the Port of Glasson for export around the world.
