Summary

Description
English: The Monks' Walk A diamond shape avenue of parallel lime trees dating from the 18th century. Part of the gardens that were designed when the seat of Lord Gisborough was the Old Hall that affronted Bow Street. The trees would have originally been lopped off at a height of ten feet and planted within a grassed area. Alum shale was used for the walkway between. Until recently the gardens were completely overgrown but are now being restored by the Gisborough Priory Project see www.gisboroughprioryproject.co.uk for more details.
