English: On 10 April 1849, the Hungarian troops continue their offensive against the Austrian troops, occupying Vác, then on 19 April defeat in the Battle of Nagysalló the new imperial corps sent from Austria in support of the troops fighting in Hungary. After this the Hungarians relieve the fortress of Komárom encircled by the imperial troops from January, forcing the royal-imperial army led by Ludwig von Welden, who replaced the unsuccessful Windisch-Grätz, to retreat tothe Western border of Hungary. However important Austrian forces remain in the Castle of Buda, while the I. Corps led by Josip Jelačić is sent in Southern Hungary to support the Austrian-Serbian troops from there. Two small Hungarian detachments led by Ármin Görgei and Lajos Beniczky were sent to Northern Hungary, who liberate its Eastern and Central part from the Austrian and Slovakian troops.
In southern Hungary General Bem and Perczel join their forces to liberate the Bánát province. They force the enemy to retreat from its northern part.
