English: At the start of December 1848 the attack of the K.u.K. forces started from the North, East and the West. From the West, on 15.12.1848, the main imperial forces led by Field Marshal Windisch-Grätz attacked, forcing the main Hungarian army led by General Artúr Görgei to retreat towards the capitals Pest and Buda. After the victory at Mór from 30-12.1848 of Lieutenant General Mór Perczel against the troops of Mór Perczel, the Hungarian government and troops left the capitals. On 5 January 1849 the imperial troops entered the Hungarian capitals. At the same time the Austrian troops led by General Franz Schlik entered Northern Hungary and defeated the troops led by Ferenc Pulszky then Lieutenant General Lázár Mészáros. Meanwhile the Hungarian army of Transylvania was reorganized by General Józef Bem, who defeated the Austrian troops, and on 19.12.1848 he started a counter-attack, forcing the imperials to retreat from the northern part of the province.
