English: The Garrett Anderson Centre, Ipswich Hospital The Garrett Anderson centre at Ipswich Hospital opened in June 2008 houses a new emergency unit. The building is named after Elizabeth Garrett Anderson - the first female GP and a former mayor of Aldeburgh. It was officially opened on July 7 2009 by HRH The Duke of Gloucester. The photograph was taken from the top of the maternity block.
