Das Tagelöhnerhaus wurde in Weidenstetten (Alb-Donau-Kreis) im Jahr 1734 erbaut. Das 37 qm große Haus wurde aus Feldsteinen gemauert und verwendet im Vergleich zu Bauernhäusern billiges Baumaterial. In seiner 270-jährigen Geschichte wurde es von verschiedenen, allesamt in ärmlichen Verhältnissen lebenden Familien bewohnt. Der zentrale Wohnbereich, die Stube, bot nur begrenzten Wohnraum und wenig Annehmlichkeiten. Durch eine Holzwand wurde hinter der Stube ein Schlafbereich, der Alkoven, abgetrennt. Beheizt wurde mit dem Stubenofen und einem Küchenherd. Ein Wasserhahn in der Küche war die einzige Wasserquelle im Haus, Spül- und Waschbecken waren nicht vorhanden. Die Toilette befand sich außerhalb. Größere Modernisierungen wurden mit Ausnahme eines Stromnetz-Anschlusses bis zuletzt nicht vorgenommen. Das Haus wurde 1993 in Weidenstetten abgebaut und 1997/98 im Freilichtmuseum Beuren wieder aufgebaut.

The house was built in Weidenstetten, Alb-Donau-Kreis, Germany in 1734. It is constructed from field stones and uses cheap material in comparison to farmhouses. In its 270-year history it was inhabited by different families, all of them poor. The central living room offered little room and few comforts. The sleeping area was separated from the living room by a wooden screen. The house was heated by an oven and a kitchen stove. A water tap in the kitchen was the only water source, sink and washbasin were not present. The toilet was outside. With the exception of a connection to the electricity network, larger modernisations were not carried out. The house was dismantled in Weidenstetten in 1993 and rebuilt in the open-air museum Beuren in 1997/98.

Cette maison a été construite à Weidenstetten (district de Tübingen) en 1734, avec des pierres locales et des matériaux bon marchés (comparé avec les fermes de laboureurs). Durant les 270 années de son histoire elle a été habitée par différentes familles, toutes pauvres. La pièce centrale de vie est petite et sans confort. La chambre est séparée de la pièce de vie par une simple cloison de bois. La maison était chauffée par un poele et un four de cuisine. La seule source d'eau était un robinet dans la cuisine, il n'y avait ni évier, ni lavabo. Les toilettes étaient à l'extérieur. Aucune modernisation n'a été réalisée, en dehors d'un raccordement au réseau électrique. La maison a été démontée à Weidenstetten en 1993 et reconstruite dans le musée de Beuren entre 1997 et 1998.
