Description
English: This is an engineering prototype of the magnetic tape data recorder flown on Tiros I, the first weather satellite. The instrument was designed to record and then play back the first television images from space. Picture taken at the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, USA.
