Description With sustained winds near 64 km per hour (40 mph), Tropical Cyclone Erica (22P) was located approximately 632 miles east-southeast of Cairns, Australia, and was moving towards the southeast at 22 km per hour (14 mph) on the day this image was acquired—March 4, 2003. The image was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA’s Aqua satellite.
