German WW2 era Heavy Assault Gun Official designation:- Sd.Kfz.166 Sturmpanzer 43 Designer:- Alkett Manufacturer:- Deutsche Eisenwerke Built:- 1943 to 1945 Total Production:- 306 Main Armament:- 150mm StuH 43 L/12 The Sturmpanzer was designed for urban infantry support, using the chassis of the Panzer IV medium tank. They first saw combat at Kursk, and served until the end of the war. One of only four Sturmpanzers to survive, this example has recently been repainted into an accurate colour scheme and markings. It is on display in Hall 10 of the Patriot Museum Complex. Park Patriot, Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
