Description
English: Statfold Barn Railway - Motor Rail locomotive. Built in 1974 by Motor Rail of Bedford, this 4wDM (diesel mechanical) is works No. 40SD503 and was supplied to Severn Trent at Minworth Sewage Works. This narrow gauge system closed in 1990 and it was believed this locomotive had been scrapped. It re-appeared and moved to Statfold in 2012 and has been worked on construction duties. The design is colloquially called a Simplex and dates back to WWI.
