Summary
| Description |
English: 3,331 GRT passenger steamship Mataram, built in 1909 by Clyde Ship Building & Engineering Co of Port Glasgow for Burns, Philp & Co, who registered her in Sydney. In 1935 Chinese owners bought it, renamed it Kwan Ho and registered it in Tsingtao. In 1938 in the Sino-Japanese War it came under the control of Nippon Kogyo Kisan KK, who renamed it Kowa Maru and registered it in Tokyo. The submarine USS Wahoo torpedoed and sank it south of Dairen in 1943. |
