DescriptionStafford House, West Stafford - geograph.org.uk - 1271079.jpg
English: Stafford House, West Stafford This is the west front of Stafford House, the former manor house of the long vanished village of Frome Billet. Seen here is the sympathetic C19 addition to the C17 main core of the house, which incorporates part of an even earlier C16 house in its south wing. The east front is considered one of the best examples of C17 architecture in Dorset. During the Second World War the house was requisitioned, and Czech and Polish pilots from nearby RAF Warmwell were billeted here. It is currently owned by the celebrated author, director, actor and Oscar winning screen-writer Julian Fellowes and his wife. Grade I listed.
