Summary

Description
English: St Mary's church This little church has sat on its hill for probably 900 years. The squat tower is typical of several churches in the area, notably that at Forton which has similar proportions. High Offley and Forton once shared a lord of the manor, a family called Skrymsher, and there are memorials to them in both churches. St Mary's church has a number of blocked up doorways and has been much altered over the years, but at heart it seems to be a simple Norman structure. The low south aisle with its pitched roof is an interesting feature.
