The SP number can't be read but this is a Baldwin, as their round plate can be seen on the locomotive's left side. This looks to be the MC-1 before it was converted to cab forward in the early 1920s. This image matches this photo of SP #4000, but the postcard view doesn't include the tender with the number on it. |
| Date | Not mailed and no other dating. SP received the locomotive in 1909 and by the early 1920s it had been altered to become a cab forward locomotive. Believe this is circa 1909-1910. |
