Description
English: Solar magnetogram. Two bands of active regions are seen on opposite sides of the solar equator. Magnetic fields pointing upward and downward are coded as red and blue. The active regions in the two opposite latitude bands have opposite magnetic field patterns.
  • Some photoshopping in the yellow area near the center of the image was necessary to remove damage in the photographic print.
