English: This is the original portrait of Sir Gordon Drummond after he served as a General in the War of 1812 at the battles of Lundy's Lane and Fort Erie. He served as Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada (Ontario) 1814-1815 and Governor General and Chief Administrator of Canada 1815-1816. The Canadian National Sites and Monuments Board has identified him as a person of National significance and a plaque has been mounted in the Ontario legislature, Queen's Park, in Toronto explaining his importance.
In 1882 George Theodore Berthon was asked by Ontario to make a copy of this portrait. His sketch of it is in the Library and Archives Canada collection while the completed work in owned by the Government of Ontario.
This original portrait is in a private collection in Canada and is the true appearance of Drummond.
