Description

Official US designation:- M4A2E8 / M4A2(76W) HVSS. British designation:- Sherman IIIAY. Built by General Motors (Fisher) in Michigan USA, with the serial No 65016. British registration T224875. This is a late war example with HVSS (Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension) and was previously displayed in genuine British markings as ‘T224875’ “HARRY” / “RON”. Fully operational, she was chosen to star in the movie “Fury” and was mocked up in authentic US Army WW2 condition. Filming took place in late 2013 and also involved The Tank Museum’s operational Tiger I ‘131’. The film was released in 2014 and the Sherman has since been on display at The Tank Museum. She is seen in the Kuwait Arena at TankFest 2017. ‘The Tank Museum’, Bovington Camp, Dorset, UK.
