Summary
| Description | Seattle Metro Transit bus 717, a 1968 GM "New Look" bus (specifically model T8H-5305), southbound on Airport Way South at Maynard Avenue, on route 123. Metro was a department of the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle at that time, not of King County. Bus 717 was originally purchased by Metro's predecessor, the Seattle Transit System, and wore a red paint scheme, but was repainted in the 1970s after Metro took over STS. At the time of this photo, No. 717 was still wearing the original version of Metro's first paint scheme (nicknamed the "sunrise" paint scheme), of 1973, with an arch shape to the lowermost color band, rather than the modified version adopted later. However, the Metro logo on the front of the bus was a newer version. |
