English: As part of NASA’s upcoming 60th anniversary, the Goddard Office of Communications hosted a screening of “Above and Beyond: NASA’s Journey to Tomorrow” on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. in the Goett Auditorium. Directed, produced and narrated by Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Rory Kennedy, the 90-minute documentary celebrates NASA’s accomplishments over the decades and examines how the agency has changed humanity’s view of our home planet and the universe.
Kennedy is widely considered one of the country’s most prolific documentary filmmakers, having directed or produced more than 30 highly acclaimed documentaries focusing on some of the world’s most pressing issues. She is a co-founder of Moxie Firecracker Films and serves as a governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Kennedy was available for a question-and-answer session following the screening.
